You will visit the Diocletians palace which was built for Diocletian's personal use, and the rest housed the military garrison on 4th century. While it is referred to as a "palace" because of its intended use as the retirement residence of Diocletian, the term can be misleading as the structure is massive and more resembles a large fortress. The Palace is one of the most famous and complete architectural and cultural features on the Croatian Adriatic coast. As the world's most complete remains of a Roman palace, it holds an outstanding place in Mediterranean, European and world heritage. Next you will visit Trogir which is a small island town 30 km away from from Split. Trogir is beautifully set within medieval walls, its streets as an unique Dalmatian town for its majestic collection of Romanesque and Renaissance architecture under Venetian rule. It earned the World Heritage site in 1990 with its magnificent cathedral.
